Donald Joseph Qualls, better called DJ Qualls is an American model and actor. In addition to his Road Trip role, he was also a part of The New Guy Hustle & Flow and The Core. In addition to his work as a character in the film, he's played in 22 different TV programs like Breaking Bad Supernatural Srubs Lost Law & Order and many more. As a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma that he was diagnosed at the age of 14 Qualls is a fighter. After two years of treatment the cancer went into the stage of remission. His body was severely damaged by the treatment and his development was slowed down. Financial security became his main goal once he got started since he'd experienced hardship throughout his entire childhood. He said in an interview that he stated that if I don't have financial stability or I have a feeling of being out of touch with the world, then I'm going to be unhappy. He also looks back at his childhood and hopes to take action on the issue of the bullying. His experience of being a victim is heartbreaking for him. DJ's ideal role is to become a father on reel as well as in actual life. The director admits that they aren't able to put his character in these role. It's great to be one day a parent himself, when you can spend more time with his career and spend more time with his children.
